Old St Mary’s, Hartley Wintney (June 2023)

As per last year, the BSC went out to Old St Mary’s, Hartley Wintney which is in the hands of The Redundant Churches Commission. The “Friends of Old St Mary’s” committee who look after the church and help fund raise asked for help again this year to clean the solar panels on the tower roof. The Friends have had LED lights put in the church powered by solar panels as there is no power supply to Old St Mary’s.

St Mary’s, Eling (Sept 2023)

Following the steel frame being prepared and repainted, the BSC went to inspect the works prior to the grant from the BRF being paid out.

St James, East Tisted (Oct 2023)

The three bells have had a complete heritage overhaul with all new fittings and new oak headstocks. The BSC inspected the work prior to the BRF releasing the grant.

St Peter & St Paul, Hawkley (Oct 2023)

Following the overhaul of the bells the BSC carried out an inspection for the BRF. The work included a replacement four and seven bells, the old seven being hung on a special frame above for the clock and Sanctus bell chiming. The work included all new headstocks and fittings as necessary, and the frame prepared and repainted.

St Mary’s, Andover (Nov 2023)

An inspection was requested by the BRF following the dismantling of all bearings, cleaning, inspection and replacement of seven sets of bearings and regrease one set. Re-bushing all clappers and reshape balls as necessary. Fitment of all new pulley blocks and pulleys, and fitment of one new Hastings stay.
